4. Repent, confessing their sins
Matt.5:22 "But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire. Matt.5:28 "But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matt.5:32 "But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Rom.12:20~21 Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head." Rom.13:13~14 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. Rom.14:10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1Cor.11:14 Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him? Eph.5:3~5 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; Eph.5:18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, Eph.5:22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. Eph.5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, Eph.6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Eph.6:4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. Phil.2:3~4 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Col.3:12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; Heb.13:4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. James1:15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. James3:14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 1Pet.3:9~10 not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. 1Pet.4:3 For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles--when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries. 2Pet.2:13 and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, 1John3:15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 1John3:17 But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? Rev.21:8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." Rev.21:27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Rev.22:15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. Lev.18:20 'Moreover you shall not lie carnally with your neighbor's wife, to defile yourself with her. Lev.19:11~13 'You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another. Lev.19:17~18 'You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. Lev.19:35~36 'You shall do no injustice in judgment, in measurement of length, weight, or volume. Lev.20:20 'If a man lies with his uncle's wife, he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness. They shall bear their sin; they shall die childless. Lev.20:27 'A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death; they shall stone them with stones. Their blood shall be upon them.'" Deut.24:17 "You shall not pervert justice due the stranger or the fatherless, nor take a widow's garment as a pledge. Deut.25:15~16 "You shall have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure, that your days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD your God is giving you. Ps.34:13~14 Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. Ps.82:4 Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked. Ps.141:3~4 Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips. Prov.6:16~19 These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: Prov.8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate. Prov.14:29 He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, But he who is impulsive exalts folly. Prov.15:27 He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house, But he who hates bribes will live. Prov.22:22~23 Do not rob the poor because he is poor, Nor oppress the afflicted at the gate; Prov.23:20 Do not mix with winebibbers, Or with gluttonous eaters of meat; Prov.24:17~18 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; Prov.24:33~34 A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest; Prov.25:1 These also are proverbs of Solomon which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied: Is.5:20~23 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Jer.22:3 'Thus says the LORD: "Execute judgment and righteousness, and deliver the plundered out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong and do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place. Jer.22:13 "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness And his chambers by injustice, Who uses his neighbor's service without wages And gives him nothing for his work, Ezek.18:5~9 But if a man is just And does what is lawful and right; Zech.7:9~10 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Execute true justice, Show mercy and compassion Everyone to his brother. Luke6:40 "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher. Acts26:18 'to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.' 1Cor.6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. 2Cor.7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Col.1:22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight-- 1Thess.3:13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints. 1Thess.4:3~7 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 1Thess.5:22~23 Abstain from every form of evil. Heb.6:1~3 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, Heb.12:14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 1Pet.1:15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 2Pet.3:14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 1John3:3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. Rev.14:3~4 They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. I am the LORD who sanctifies you, Num.15:40 "and that you may remember and do all My commandments, and be holy for your God. 1Chr.15:12 He said to them, "You are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your brethren, that you may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel to the place I have prepared for it. Ps.15:1 A Psalm of David. LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? Ps.23:3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Ps.145:17 The LORD is righteous in all His ways, Gracious in all His works. Is.5:16 But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, And God who is holy shall be hallowed in righteousness. Mal.2:11 Judah has dealt treacherously, And an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem, For Judah has profaned The LORD'S holy institution which He loves: He has married the daughter of a foreign god.
Matt.6:5~7 "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. Matt.6:9~13 "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Matt.7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Matt.9:38 "Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." Matt.17:21 "However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting." Matt.18:19~20 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. Matt.21:13 And He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.'" Matt.21:22 "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." Matt.26:39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." Mark1:35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. Mark13:33 "Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. Mark14:38 "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." Luke6:12 Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. Luke9:29 As He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and glistening. Luke11:13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" Luke21:36 "Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." Luke22:32 "But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren." Luke22:40 When He came to the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation." Luke22:44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. John14:13 "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. John17:9 "I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. John17:15 "I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. Acts6:4 "but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word." Acts8:15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. Rom.8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Rom.12:12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 1Cor.10:24 Let no one seek his own, but each one the other's well-being. Eph.6:18~19 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints- Phil.4:6~7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; Col.4:2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; 1Thess.5:17 pray without ceasing, 1Tim.4:5 for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. James4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. James5:13~16 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 1Pet.4:7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. 1John5:14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. Jude1:3 ~4 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. 1Kin.8:28 "Yet regard the prayer of Your servant and his supplication, O LORD my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer which Your servant is praying before You today: 1Kin.8:49 "then hear in heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause, 2Kin.20:5 "Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, 'Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: "I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD. Ezra10:1 Now while Ezra was praying, and while he was confessing, weeping, and bowing down before the house of God, a very large assembly of men, women, and children gathered to him from Israel; for the people wept very bitterly. Neh.1:6 "please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now, day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my father's house and I have sinned. Ps.54:2 Hear my prayer, O God; Give ear to the words of my mouth. Ps.66:20 Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer, Nor His mercy from me! Ps.143:1 A Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O LORD, Give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, And in Your righteousness. Jer.33:3 'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.' Jer.42:4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, "I have heard. Indeed, I will pray to the LORD your God according to your words, and it shall be, that whatever the LORD answers you, I will declare it to you. I will keep nothing back from you." Dan.6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. Dan.9:3~4 Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. Dan.9:17 "Now therefore, our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications, and for the Lord's sake cause Your face to shine on Your sanctuary, which is desolate. Dan.9:21 yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering. Jonah2:7 "When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD; And my prayer went up to You, Into Your holy temple Zech.8:22 Yes, many peoples and strong nations Shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, And to pray before the LORD.'
4. Repent, confessing their sins
Matt.3:6 and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins. Matt.3:11 "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Matt.4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt.9:13 "But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." Matt.11:20~21 Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent:
Matt.18:3 and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Mark1:15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel." Mark2:17 When Jesus heard it, He said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." Mark6:12 So they went out and preached that people should repent. Luke3:8 "Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. Luke13:4 "Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? Luke15:7 "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. Luke15:10 "Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Luke17:3 "Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. Luke24:47 "and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Acts2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts3:19 "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, Acts3:26 "To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities." Acts11:18 When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, "Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life." Acts19:18~19 And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. Rom.14:11 For it is written: "As I live, says the LORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God." 2Cor.7:10 For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. 2Cor.12:21 lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and I shall mourn for many who have sinned before and have not repented of the uncleanness, fornication, and lewdness which they have practiced. 2Tim.2:25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 2Pet.3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 1John1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Rev.2:5 "Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place--unless you repent. Rev.2:16 'Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. Rev.2:22 "Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. Rev.3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Josh.7:19 Now Joshua said to Achan, "My son, I beg you, give glory to the LORD God of Israel, and make confession to Him, and tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me." 1Kin.8:47 "yet when they come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of those who took them captive, saying, 'We have sinned and done wrong, we have committed wickedness'; Job42:6 Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes." Ps.34:18 The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. Jer.14:20 We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness And the iniquity of our fathers, For we have sinned against You. Ezek.14:6 "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Repent, turn away from your idols, and turn your faces away from all your abominations. Ezek.18:23 "Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?" says the Lord GOD, "and not that he should turn from his ways and live? Ezek.18:30 "Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways," says the Lord GOD. "Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. Joel2:12~13 "Now, therefore," says the LORD, "Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning." For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them. 2Pet.2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2John1:9~10 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. Rev.2:15 "Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

Matt.28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Mark8:35 "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. Mark8:38 "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels." Luke4:18 "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; Rom.1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. Rom.10:13~15 For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved." Rom.15:20 And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man's foundation, 1Cor.9:16 For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel! 1Cor.9:18 What is my reward then? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel. 2Tim.4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 2Tim.4:5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 1Pet.4:6 For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
Matt.19:21 Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." Acts10:4 And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, "What is it, lord?" So he said to him, "Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God. Acts20:35 "I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" Rom.12:8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. 1Tim.5:10 well reported for good works: if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work. Heb.13:16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. James1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. James2:13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment. 1John3:17~18 But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? Lev.25:35~37 'If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you. Deut.15:7~8 "If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother, Deut.15:10~11 "You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the LORD your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand. Ps.112:9 He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honor. Prov.21:13 Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor Will also cry himself and not be heard Prov.22:9 He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor. Is.1:17 Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow. Is.58:6~7 "Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? Is.58:10 If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday.
