Bible Story-3

1. Preservation of the Bible

It is very important to know how the Bible was written, how it was translated, and preserved.
God tried to preserve the Bible that led mankind to salvation, and Satan tried to change it.

Gen.3:4~5 Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die.
"For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

God told Adam and Eve that eating the fruit of good and evil must die, and the snake(Satan) transformed God's word that even if you eat the fruit of good and evil, you never die.
Satan also lied that if they eat the fruit of good and evil, they will be like God.
Here we see that Satan transforms or deletes the Word of God so that humans can not be saved.

By the early 20th century, the King James Bible (KJV), translated English by the orders of King James of England in 1611, was mainly used in Western Christianity:
The King James Bible, whose original text was translated by 54 reputable scholars, impressed many and is also known as the "Authorized-Bible" in the sense of "the Bible given authority" because many theologians recognized its authority.
But now, many other translations, such as the NIV and NASB, come out and show each other that they are the most accurate Bible, which gives us chaos.

However, the King James Bible translated "multiple texts"(standard originals), which are 99% of the manuscripts, while the "minor texts"(copys of Vaticans by Catholics) of which only 1% of the manuscripts are translated to the NIV or NASB Bible.
Therefore, the biggest difference between the King James Bible and the other Bible is that the original text is different.
Religious reformers like Luther and Calvin used the 'standard text'.

Ps.12:6~7 The words of the LORD are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times.
You shall keep them, O LORD, You shall preserve them from this generation forever.

David said that the Word of God is like pure silver, trained seven times in furnace.
He also said that God will keep the Words and preserve them forever.
So it is very important to know which of the two main streams of the Bible is the words that God preserved.
The criteria for judgment is how accurately translated, there is no deletion or chaqnge, and the person who translated it has the right faith.

Of course, a lot of numbers are not necessarily right, so you need to look closely.
Currently, the original text of the Bible is old and all are lost and only manuscripts remain.
The standard text was written in the Antioch Church in Turkey, and the minority text was written in the Egyptian city of Alexandria.
Let's first look at the characteristics of the two cities.

Antioch

Antioch was founded by Selecus I in 300 B.C. as the capital of the Selecus dynasty.
Antioch was a very suitable place to spread the gospel, as it was built on the crossroads of ancient trade routes from Mesopotamia to the Mediterranean and from Arabia to Asia Minor.
Antioch also had a port adjacent to the Orontes River.

In the Acts of the Apostles, Antioch served as a refuge for Christians persecuted by Rome and was the first place to be revived.
Antioch is where the most important figures of the New Testament era, the apostles Paul and Banaba, spread the gospel.
The Antioch Church was the outpost of the apostle Paul, and it was the first place to write the name 'Christian'.
Paul fought against a law enforcement believer who was saved by circumcised, and he won the Jerusalem Council.

From Acts 11, the center of missions was moved from Jerusalem to Antioch and God mainly used people who settled in Antioch such as Paul, Banaba, Silas, and Mark.
As such, Antioch was the center of missions, and inevitably wrote a lot of Bibles were copied for missions.

Alexandria

Alexandria is a port city in northern Egypt, the second largest city in Egypt after Cairo.
It was a city to rule the Egyptian region in the empire of Alexander the Great, and it was a place where the New Plato philosophy developed.
Egypt was described primarily as the kingdom of Satan in the Bible, and Paul did not directly mission in Egypt.
Philo, a Jew who lived in Alexandria at the time of Jesus, also created a heresy called Gnosticism that combines Plato philosophy with the Old Testament.

A.D. Around 180, a man named Pantanus founded a doctrine school in Alexandria to train missionaries.
In A.D. 190 Clement took over the school of doctrine, and he interpreted the Bible philosophically and figuratively, and worked hard to find the mysterious meaning hidden in the text rather than the meaning given by the text.
The theologian Origen(A.D. 185–254), who inherited their ideas and changed the Bible.

12. A manuscript of the Bible;

The original text of the Bible, 'The Original of the handwriting', is so old that all lost.
So now only a copy of the Bible is left.
Biblical manuscripts are largely divided into two groups: copies and translations.

a) Copies

1. copy of the Miniscules

This copy now accounts for most of the remaining ancient copies, which were recorded as the Greek Miniscules similar to small letter of the alphabet.
It was recorded in papyrus, which is not expensive, and was sewn and stored.
Some documents were recorded in expensive vekkum made from animal skin, which were more durable than papyrus.

The initial copy recorded the word from beginning to end without any empty space.
At first, it was attached without gaping between words, but it was gap easy to read in the later days.
Also, from 125 A.D., codex, which was created in the form of a book, not a scroll, began to be created.

2. A copy of Majuscules

A copy of the capital letter (A.D. 300–900) was recorded as Majuscules or Uncials similar to the capital letter of the alphabet, and there is no gap between letters.
A capital copy is much less than a copy of an Miniscules, and appears after the fourth century.
Of the 5,200 manuscripts left, 3,000 are Greek manuscripts.

b) Translations

The original and copies of the New Testament were written mainly in Greek, which was the official language at the time, but translations translated into foreign languages began to appear to spread to people to other countries.
The Syrian translation of "Peshitto" was translated from Greek in A.D. 150, and the Latin translation of "Old Latin Vulgate" was translated in A.D. 157.

13. A correct copy and an altered copy

The bible manuscripts are largely divided into "Majority Text" and "Minority Text".

a) a correct copy (Majority Text)

The 'Majority Text', also called 'Standard Texts' dominate 99% of the existing manuscripts.
It also coincides with each other in terms of contents and supports all the fundamental doctrines of Christianity.
The "Majority Text" is also called the "Reformation Text" or "Traditional Text".

The original text of the King James Bible among the 'Major Texts' is the Greek text.
It is called the Byzantine Text because it was written in Greek, which was the world standard language at the time.
It is also called the Universal Text because it was universally recognized by scholars.

The Greek Majority Texts started in Antioch and then passed through Europe to the UK.
In addition, the Syrian translation of "Peshitto" and the Latin translation of "Old Latin Vulgate" have also been widely available in Europe.
There are still about 350 'Peshitto Text'.

"Old Latin Vulgate" was widely used in churches that guarded fundamental beliefs centered on the Bible of Europe: Waldeness, Gauls, Celtic, and Albigenes.
The word 'bulgate' comes from 'vulgar' which means 'common' in Latin, because it was commonly used by christian.

The faithful chrisstian never used the later Roman Catholic reverse, "Jerome's Latin Vulgate".
"Jerome's Latin Vulgate" was translated by Catholic theologian Jerome from a corrupt text at the A.D. 380, rarely used, and then forced to use it in the 13th century, persecution of Christian, who believed as the Bible.
Roman Catholics were able to conquest Europe with a corrupt Bible after burning 'majority texts' in Europe.

b) Modified Copy (Minority Text)

The "Minority Text" not only has fewer numbers, but also has deleted or altered passages about the birth of Jesus' virgin, the Divinity of Christ, the Substitution of Christ, the Trinity, Hell.
The 'Minority Text' was used as the original translation of all the Bibles published since the release of West Cort and Hort's 'British Reversed Bible' in 1881.

However, Christians who historically believe in the Bible have never used the "Minority Text", and only Roman Catholics used and supported the "Minority Text" by force.
"Minority text" is also called the "Egyptian Text" or "Alexandrian Text".
The revised Greek Text, edited by West Cort and Hort in 1881 was used as the original translation of the Bible worldwide.

One of the Minority Texts is a 'Sinai Text' discovered by Dr. Tischendorf in a pile of garbage from Catholic 'St. Catharine's Monastery' in Mount Sinai in 1859.
'Sinai Text' are presumed to have been written in the 4th century, and were recognized as Traditional Text according to the preconception that 'the longer the better'.

"Sinai Text" was seemingly excellent, with codex(in the form of books) rather than scrolls, and the material was also an expensive bellum.
This Text has 148 chapters, one side is 38cm
×32cm, and 48 lines are written in 4 columns for each side.
Dr. Scrivener said that Sinai Text were unreliable because there were many modifications.

Finally
, there is a 'Vaticanus Text' housed in the Vatican Library in Rome.
The Vaticanus Text is also codexe.
The size of the copy is 25cm×26.3cm, with 759 pages, and each side has 41 lines in three colume.
'Vaticanus Text' has deleted many passages that indicate the basic doctrine of Christianity.

14. Origen and the corruption of the Bible

Minority text was created in Alexandria, Egypt.
Eusebius, Bishop of Gaissarya, made 50 copies of the Bible under the orders of the Roman Emperor Constantine.
Unfortunately, Eusebius did not go to Andiok, where there was a pure text, but went to Alexandria, Egypt, which was the center of the study at the time, and got a revised version written by scholars.

Eusebius went to Alexandria because he followed the theologian Origen of Alexandria.
Origen's full name is Origenes (A.D. 185–254), and most seminaries misteach Origen as a great theologian.
Origen is actually a person who has not abandoned his thoughts and has corrected the Bible at will.
In the interpretation of the Bible, Origen interpreted the part that is not literally understandable as allegory.

17. Westcott and Hort

The biggest figures that raised the authority of the "minority text" and led Britain to apostasy were Greek scholars, Westcott(1825–1903) and Hort(1828–1892).
WestCott and Hort were a great contributor to the "Trxt Criticism" and supported Alexandria "minority texts" to create the Greek Bible.

But they were liberal people who didn't even have the basic faith of Christianity.
Hortt did not believe that there is no error in the Bible.
Hortt did not believe that the Garden of Eden was real, and he admired Darwin who claims the theory of evolution.
He did not believe in the existence of demons, denied the existence of painful hell, and believed in purgatory of Catholicism.

Hortt did not believe in Jesus' cross substitution, and thought that he was reborn by the Roman Catholic baptism of infants.
He had racist ideas, and he was interested in communism and mysticism.

Westcott was worse than Hort, and he did not believe in Genesis' creation, and he thought Moses or David were a mythical figures.
He denied Jesus' actual second comig, and denied the existence of heaven.
Westcourt interpreted the Bible figuratively and sympathized with the Catholic worship of Mary.

Westcott and Hort's "Text Criticism" is intended to drop the authority of the King James Bible by scratching "majority text", but their theory has not been proven.
Eventually, the Church of England accepted Westcott and Hort's theory and abandoned the King James Bible and adopted the modified Bible.

In 1870, the Council of the Church of England decided to make a revised edition, and Westcott and Hort offered a revised Greek text.
The Bible Revision Committee accepted Westcott and Hort's "Revision Greek text", and the Bible Revision Committee followed Westcott and Hort's guidelines.
