Truth

The first step in salvation is to know the Truth.
Truth is the most important and the most overlooked element of salvation.
When you build a house, you have to do well foundation work, so that the house not collapse.
Knowing the truth is like digging deep and putting steel in the building of a house of salvation
.

Matt.7:24~27 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Whether this phrase emphasizes on truth or behaviolr can be known through the word 'doth them'.
Here, "them" is a plural pronoun that receives "sayings".
Jesus said the importance of truth by saying that "the person who does them" (the person who does the truth) is like a man who built a house on a rock, and "the person who does them not" (the person who does not truth) is like a man who built a house on sand.

In
other words, no matter how much you believe in Jesus, if you do not truth, it will collapse quickly when the Tribulation comes.

John17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

1Tim.4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Jesus and Paul the Apostle said that we are sanctified by the truth.
The truth is the Word of God that gives our spirit life and grows holy.
Truth has the power to save people from sins and to change them completely.
Truth is the rule of the spiritual world that never changes.

2Pet.1:20~21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost.

2Tim.3:16~17 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

So how can a human be able to know the truth?
The Bible is written by man but written by prophet inspired by God, and it is nothing more than God's writing.
The Bible contains doctrines and rebukes that can lead a fallen human to salvation.
Therefore, in order to know the truth, we must read the Bible, the Word of God.

Here are the reasons why we should know the truth:

1. Truth is the food of spirit

John6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

John6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

John1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus
is a living bread that comes down from heaven, and if you eat this bread, you will live forever, so you should eat Jesus' flesh.
And since Jesus is the bread of life, those who come to Jesus will not be (spiritually) hungry or thirsty.
Because Jesus' reality is the truth, anyone should listens to Jesus' words and resemble Jesus.
Jesus was the Word of God from the beginning, and the Word became the Body.

Matt.4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The reason why the word to bread is because the word is the food of spirit.
Body grow up eating food, but Spirit grows up listening to God¡¯s words.
Spirit adores the truth and is delighted when we hear the truth of God.
If Spirits listen to the Word, of God, personality become perfect .

2. You know the truth, then you can fight against the devil and win.

John8:31~32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

People
usually think that they live freely according to their will.
But everyone who is not born again actually live according to the instinct of the body and the supervision of Satan.
Hate and anger, greed and doubt, anxiety and fear, disappointment and depression, thoughts to die, obscene thoughts,
Most of the negative thoughts and feelings are given by the evil spirit.

Heb.5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Knowing the truth can discern the thoughts of spirit, soul, and flesh, Holy Spirit and the demons.
You should know the truth not to be fooled by lies of Satan.
Ii
f you don't want to be cheated, you need to know the law better than a cheater.

3. Truth is the basis of complete faith.

Rom.10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The truth of God makes the right faith.
Belief without knowing the truth is doubtful and soon collapsed when test or tribulation come.
Also, if you do not know the truth, you will have false faith or deceived by false doctrine.
When you hear the truth, faith gradually turns into confidence, leading to personal change and correct behavior.

4. Truth leads us to eternal life.

John17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Eternal life is to know the only true God and Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the model of salvation, the only door and the way to God.
So you can resemble Him, and live according to God's will.

John6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

Peter abandoned everything and followed Jesus because of words of eternal life.
Knowing the truth is like getting a map and a compass to go to heaven.
Knowing the way or direction to heaven, no fear of losing way.

5. Live right without sins

2Cor.9:6 But this [I say], He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

2Thess.3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Prov.28:22 He that hasteth to be rich [hath] an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

Many people are suffering from work less but want to get a lot.
So, rather than working hard in society, there is a lot of gambling, and various speculation, and fraudulent business and social crime are increasing.
People who speculatively invest in real estate dream of unearning income, but eventually raise house prices and monthly rent to harm ordinary people.

James1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Titus3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.

Titus3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Almost all evil that occurs in society comes from excessive greed for matter.
Greed is just one of human emotions, and all human emotions are not satisfied because they want stronger stimuli.
If a person is not greedy and frugal, there is no chance to sin.
If you continue to sin, your conscience will become paralyzed and you will become increasingly guilty, and eventually you will be irreversible.
The born-again Christian does not greedy in this world because he lives with hope in heaven, and is happy even if he earns less.
