John
3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom
of God. Those who have been forgiven
of sins by Jesus' grace should be born
again.
John3:5~6 Jesus answered, Verily, verily,
I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit,
he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the
flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 1Pet.3:21 The like figure whereunto [even]
baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth
of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by
the resurrection of Jesus Christ: Luke12:50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
Jesus says that born again
is coming from 'water' and 'holy spirit', and that it is not 'flesh' but 'spirit'
that is born again.
Rom.6:4 Therefore we are buried with him
by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the
dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in
newness of life. Col.2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein
also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation
of God, who hath raised him from the dead. When Christians were baptized and submerged, I believe that my old man was crucified and buried with Jesus.
Gen.2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge
of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that
thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Since Adam and Eve ate the fruit
of good and evil, God left
Man for sin, our spirit is in a state of sleep without activity, and it is like death in God's
point of view.
Acts26:18 To open their eyes, [and]
to turn [them] from darkness to light, and [from] the
power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness
of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified
by faith that is in me. Acts2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent,
and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ
for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift
of the Holy Ghost. Mark16:16 He that believeth and is baptized
shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. All criminals are under the power of darkness(death, sins, curse, pain, satan, devil, ignorance).
Heb.5:13~14 For every one that useth milk
[is] unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, [even] those
who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both
good and evil. But it is not so easy to be fully reborn.
Acts1:8 But ye shall receive power, after
that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses
unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and
unto the uttermost part of the earth. Rebirth is a state that my spirit supervise my body, fight against
sins and devil, speak and act according to the impression of the Holy Spirit, and feel the love and companionship of Jesus.
John15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the
Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father,
he shall testify of me: John16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of
truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not
speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he
speak: and he will shew you things to come. Rom.8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
1. You must always be in the midst of grace and truth
Eph.6:13~18 Wherefore take unto you the
whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil
day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able
to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet
of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of
God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,
and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for
all saints; Satan and devils hold the power of the world, and they are interfering with us to be saved.
a) Having your loins girt about with truth (Bible)
John5:39 Search the scriptures; for in
them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify
of me. The Bible is a book that testimony
Jesus, the gateway and road to salvation, and contains the truth that brings eternal life.
b) your feet shod with the preparation of the
gospel of peace (Praise) John14:27 Peace I leave with you, my
peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto
you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Our hearts have lost peace, and our minds are not always rested because of the worries of the world.
Matt.8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
c) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit (Pray) Luke22:40 And when he was at the place,
he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. Luke22:32 But I have prayed for thee,
that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen
thy brethren. Faith plays the same role as a shield that can overcome any test and tribulation.
1.
Repentance is to sincerely repent of your fault and pray for forgiveness to Jesus. Rev.3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and
chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Rev.2:5 Remember therefore from whence
thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will
come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his
place, except thou repent. If you are reluctant to mind or do something wrong, you must repent to Jesus and restore the right mind and behavior.
2.
Appreciation is the touched heart of God's love, grace and care. Ps.100:4
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with
praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name. Col.3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or
deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God
and the Father by him. Gratitude is a gift we take when we go to God, and we should give thanks and praise to our father through Jesus.
3.
A plea is to beg Jesus to hear our wishes. Matt.7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock,
and it shall be opened unto you: Phil.4:6~7 Be careful for nothing; but
in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which
passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus. We often get disappointed when we do not get well even if we pray for what we want.
2. You must fight your soul, your body, and win.
I try to live spiritually to be born again, but my soul and body are the most disliked.
Rom.8:13 For if ye live after the flesh,
ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds
of the body, ye shall live. characteristics of flesh are stronger than spirituality, we can not control the instincts, desires and habits of the bodyr.
a) You have to fight your own stubbornness, your stereotypes.
Everyone has a stubbornness and stereotype, and they live their lives with that
philosophy.
Rom.8:6
For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded
[is] life and peace. Ezek.11:19 And I will give them one heart,
and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony
heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: John12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth
alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. The thoughts of the soul and the body, however rational and logical, bring death that has nothing to do with the salvation of my spirit.
b) You must fight the instincts of the body and win. 1John2:16 For all that [is] in the world,
the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of
life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. Eccles.3:19 For that which befalleth the
sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as
the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath;
so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all [is] vanity. All the people in this world are pursuing the lust of the body, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life.
Matt.6:33~34 But seek ye first the kingdom
of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added
unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow
shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the
day [is] the evil thereof. Jesus said that if we do God's
work first, God will fill us with what we need.
1Tim.6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some
coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves
through with many sorrows. The desires of the body related to survival instinct include appetite, sleep, possession, and power.
1Pet.4:3 For the time past of [our] life
may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we
walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings,
and abominable idolatries: When the problem of eating and living is solved, the reproductive instinct captures me.
Gal.5:17 For the flesh lusteth against
the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are
contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that
ye would. I want to do good things and God's work in my heart, but the body wants to do it in its own instinct.
Rom.7:24 O wretched man that I am!
who shall deliver me from the body of this death? The body is a miserable creature who lives like an animal and is supposed to die of old age and illness.
1Cor.6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that
a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication
sinneth against his own body. 2Tim.2:22 Flee also youthful lusts: but
follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call
on the Lord out of a pure heart. Animals find food, hide from enemies, mate, and raise their young, even though they are not taught.
John16:33 These things I have spoken unto
you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have
tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Rom.8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free
from the law of sin and death. I cannot fight and win the strong instincts of the flesh.
c) You must fight and win the feelings of the body (pleasure).
Eccles.2:1 I said in mine heart, Go to now, I will prove thee with mirth, therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also [is] vanity.
Eccles.7:2 [It is] better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that [is] the end of all men; and the living will lay [it] to his heart.
Ps.16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of
life: in thy presence [is] fulness of joy; at thy right hand [there
are] pleasures for evermore. It is good not to watch TV except news, refrain from drinking
and cigarettes, and do not play electronic games or chat.
Heb.3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there
be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the
living God. 1Tim.5:6 But she that liveth in pleasure
is dead while she liveth. 1John2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in
him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we
are in him. If you follow the joy of the world even after being saved, your relationship with God, which has been recovered, will be cut off again.
d) We
must fight and win the laziness of the body. Prov.24:33~34 [Yet] a little sleep, a little
slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty
come [as] one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man. The body likes to rest, and disliks to work. Rom.12:11 Not slothful in business; fervent
in spirit; serving the Lord; The reason why the body is lazy is because the body loses its motivation to act anymore when the problem of eating is solved.
3.
We should fight and win Satan.
1Pet.5:8~9 Be sober, be vigilant; because
your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about,
seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith,
knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren
that are in the world. Satan and the devils are cunning and viciously interfering to prevent us from being born again.
Eph.4:27 Neither give place to the devil. We live in the middle of a fierce spiritual battleground between Jesus and Satan.
Luke22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas
surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. 2Tim.2:26 And [that] they may recover themselves
out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his
will. Judas was also supervised by Satan, and the Jews were mad at thinking that they were doing righteous things when they killed Jesus.
Luke11:24~26 When the unclean spirit is
gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest;
and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I
came out. And when he cometh, he findeth [it] swept and garnished.
Then goeth he, and taketh [to him] seven other spirits more wicked
than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last [state]
of that man is worse than the first. 1Tim.5:15 For some are already turned aside
after Satan. If we are remissioned, the dirty spirits in us are driven out, and our bodies are like empty houses, so if we are not filled with the Holy Spirit, the evil spirits that have been driven out will bring the more
evil spirits back and worsen the state than before.
*
Satan tests us in next 3 ways, just as Jesus was tested in the wilderness for 40 days when we were about to be born
again. Matt.4:1~2 Then was Jesus led up of the
Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when
he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. a)
Satan gives us a tribulation. Matt.4:3~4 And when the tempter came to
him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones
be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall
not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of
the mouth of God. When Satan ordered the hungry Jesus to make the stone a bread, Jesus said that man can not live only with bread, but should live by listening to God's words.
John6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him,
Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. If you believe and follow Jesus, you may have financial difficulties, and it is possible because Satan holds the sovereignty of this world.
John6:19~21 So when they had rowed about
five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the
sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid. But he
saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid. Then they willingly received
him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither
they went. No matter how much treasure you have on the ground, it will be worn out over time and the thief will break through and steal it.
1Tim.6:7~8 For we brought nothing into
[this] world, [and it is] certain we can carry nothing out. And
having food and raiment let us be therewith content. Heb.13:5 [Let your] conversation [be] without
covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for
he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Gal.6:8~9 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. The greed for matter is endless and unsatisfactory, causing many conflicts, crimes.
b)
Satan tests us with the difficulties. Matt.4:5~7 Then the devil taketh him up
into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down:
for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee:
and in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou
dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written
again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. The devil tells jesus to jump down the temple, but Jesus says not to test God.
Matt.10:28 And fear not them which kill
the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him
which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Rev.20:10 And the devil that deceived them
was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and
the false prophet [are], and shall be tormented day and night for
ever and ever. Jesus told us not to fear the devils who kill the body but who do not kill the soul (self), but to fear God who can throw the soul and body into hell.
c)
Finally, Satan seduces us with matter, power, honor, and pleasure. Matt.4:8~10
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain,
and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of
them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if
thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him,
Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the
Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Satan and the devils shake our minds through the temptation, the highest level, if we do not budge with tribulation and testing.
1John2:17 And the world passeth away, and
the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for
ever. Prov.4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence;
for out of it [are] the issues of life. Satan, who holds the power of the world, seduces us with the materials, power, honor, vanity, pleasure, fashion that the soul and the body like.
4. You have to try to be born again more ideal. 1Cor.15:31
I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord,
I die daily. 2Cor.4:11
For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake,
that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal
flesh. Paul confessed that he died every day to abandon the previous wrong and incomplete.
Jude1:5
I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this,
how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt,
afterward destroyed them that believed not 2Cor.11:3
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through
his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity
that is in Christ. The Israelites experienced the miracles and graces of God, but; while Moses went up to the mountain to receive the Ten Commandments for 40 days, they fell, made a golden calf and worshiped Satan.
Rev.7:14
And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These
are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their
robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Rev.3:19
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and
repent. So the saints who were saved before the great tribulation in the Revelation are those who washed their clothes white with the blood of a young sheep.
5.
'Forgiven of sins' and 'Born again' are different There are people who believe that 'Forgiven
of sins' is 'born again'
1Pet.1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
It is 'Born again' to take off the old man according to the lust of the body, and to add the holy new man belonging to the spirit, which is to sprout new life with the help of the Holy Spirit and grow in the middle of grace and truth.
Mark7:21~23
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil
thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness,
wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride,
foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile
the man. Gal.5:19~21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these];
Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry,
witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions,
heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such
like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you]
in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the
kingdom of God. The responsibility for sin has been removed by 'Forgiven
of sins', but the cause of sins
remain.
Ps.103:10
He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us
according to our iniquities. Sins are caused by sin(iniquity).
Rom.8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Rom.7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. Rom.6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not
under the law, but under grace. It is recorded that you are forgiven from sins, but that you are free from sin.
John8:34~36
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever
committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth
not in the house for ever: [but] the Son abideth ever. If the Son
therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Jesus said that anyone who commit
sin is the servant of sin.
Col.1:13~14
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath
translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have
redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins: 1Pet.4:1~2 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of [his] time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
